Advocacy and Your Child with Learning Differences

Discovering that your child has a learning difference can be overwhelming. As a parent, you may have many questions about how your child will fare as they go through school and life with dyslexia or another hidden learning difference. Join us and our expert panel as they share their personal journeys with children with learning differences and offer some tips to help navigate the highs and lows with your child. 

PANELISTS

Kathy Ferguson, Ph.D. is the mother of two adult sons with learning differences, a Professor at UH Mānoa, the author of A Resource Guide About Dyslexia for People in Hawai‘i and a Certified Orton-Gillingham private tutor.

Tisha Lang Narimatsu is the mother of three children with learning differences, a parent consultant at Na Pua Moamahi and an academic support teacher at Aina Haina Elementary.

Jennifer Leoiki-Drino is the mother of two children, one with learning differences, a parent advocate, HIDA Board Member and Public Awareness Committee chair.

Sandi Tadaki, M.Ed. (moderator) is the Assistant Head of School and Director of Admissions at Assets School.
