The Brigham Young University Hawai’i School of Education hosted a one-day symposium for parents with a focus onself-awareness, self-advocacy and self-empowerment. Hawai’i Education Summit – July 9, 2016

Mahalo to Governor David Ige and First Lady Dawn Ige for hosting the Hawai’i Education Summit. The Summit focused on the new opportunities that the ESSA – Every Student Succeeds Act – provides for a future-focused education system in Hawai’i. Among the 1,000 participants were Suzanne Skjold, Executive Director
of Hawai’i Literacy, Margaret Higa, HIDA’s Executive Director and Kawailehua Pakjake, HIDA Board Member.
